iron man opening scene

in the opening scene to iron man one of the first things the audience sees is two men in a vehicle. one of the men is wherein a suit and the other man is wherein an american army uniform.because the man in the vehicle is wherein an army uniform the audience can tell that this is an action film. in most films with war and the army as a main topic also consist of explosions and guns which are conventions of action films.a few seconds later on in this clip we see an explosion. explosions generally occur in action films more then any other genre. the explosion also indicates that the film had a very large budget because they of  actually had an explosion and if the explosion didn't look right then they would of had to keep repeating this explosion. in the scene we also see guns being used and the vehicle that the main character is in is being shot at. guns are a convention of a lot of action films because it gives the audience the thrill of knowing that the characters in the film could be killed at any moment and that the whole mood of the film could change within a second of one of the main characters being shot. most of the scene the camera is focused on one character. this tells the audience that this is going to be the main character for the film. the reason that the main character gets so many close ups and why the camera is focused on them  the most is because the makers of the film wants the audience to sympathies

at the end of the scene the main character is captured by (terrorists) looking people after he pases out because of another explosion this sets up the rest of the scene to be an escape scene. an escape scene is another convention of an action film because the audience finds these scenes to be thrilling, exciting and joyful. the reason that the enemy in the film is a foreighn character is because iron man is an american film and the audience will want to see an american hero and a forighn enemy

the dark knight opening scene

In the opening scene to batman the dark knight we can tell that this is an action film instantly because the two men getting from building to building by sliding along the wire on the roof top.
The fact that these men are in clown masks and climbing on the top of buildings tells the audience they don’t want to be seen, the audience can tell that they are the villains. Also the facts these men in clown masks are robbing a bank tells us that there is going to be action and also because they have guns we know that this is going to be an action film

The fact that the joker is able to manipulate these men into killing each other shows the audience of the dark knight that he is a smart cunning villain that has clearly done what he is doing before. The audience also can see that he’s an extremely strange villain because he makes all of the people who are working for him have clown masks. The joker himself also has a mask on even though he has face paint under it. The joker is also a confusing character because instead of leaving the scene in a vehicle like a Ferrari he leaves in a school bus. he does this so the police wont be able to track him easily

When the man on the floor at the museum is talking to the joker, the camera keeps showing shots from his view. This is because the makers of the film are trying to make the audience feel sorry for this man. And the producers of the film want us to feel the fear that this man on the floor is feeling
when the joker is looking down at the man in the end of this clip the lights are quite dark, this is so the audience relate the darkness to the charicter

candy man opening

In the opening scene to the 1992 horror candy man the first shot we see is of the city of Chicago (where the film was made and based) from birds eye view, this gives the viewer the impression that the city is small and helpless and that someone or something is watching over it or controlling it. whilst this scene is happening the music builds suspense by adding more instruments as it shows the city.after this the screen is filled with a close up shot of thousands of bees on a wall and the voice of tony Todd (candy man) starts talking about shedding blood. The viewer can instantly recognize that this is a horror film because of this scene talking about shedding blood. As this scene is happening it doesn't show the man speaking, this makes the man seem more mysterious and unknown and it makes the audience want to know more about the man
the lighting in the scene with the bees is really dark which tells the audience the location is hidden.
the audience can infer this because there is no sunlight in this scene.
at the end of the opening we see an extreme long shot of the city being swarmed by bees. the fact that the camera man has used an extreme long shot of the city shows that he wants the viewer to believe that the city is small compered to the power of all the bees. the reason that bees are the theme for this horror is because bees are not really seen as cute sweet animals. they are normally seen as quite dangerous and painful insects that people don't want to be around

the fact that the film is called candy man makes it sound like a happy film. this contrasts with the fact that it is a horror film.
