shot types

this is a mid shot of the joker from batman the dark knight. a midshot is a shot in which we can see roughly half of a persons body a mid shot is normally used if an acotor is doing something with the uppper half of there body

this is a close up of daniel craig.a closeup is a shot in which we can only see someones face or only one single body part these shots are used if we need to see the expresion on someones face to understand the scene of a film. this shot is usually used to make the audience sypathise with a charecter

this is an extreme close up of a frogs eye. an extreme close up is like a close up but it allows the viewer to see something in a lot of detail such as eyes or lips. this kind of shot is normally used if we see a charecter cry or if we thought a charecter was dead but then they open there eye and it creates a dramatic scene

this is a long shot of a girl in the woods in a pink dress.a long shot is a shot in which we can see the whole of a persons body

this is a long shot of a women in the wood compared with an extreme long shot of a women in the woods as you can see an extreme long shot doesn't focus as much on the person but instead there whole surroundings. this kind of shot is normaly used if we are introduced to a new location and the film is trying to femilialise the audience with the location
